The Gwilym bowen rhys Trio

Gwilym Bowen Rhys is an ambassador for Welsh language and song at home in Wales and across the world. His powerful and high energy performances have been endorsed by his nomination for the Folk Singer Of The Year Award in the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards and winning of The Best Solo Artist Award in the Welsh Folk Awards.

His first album ‘O Groth y Ddaear’ (From The Womb Of The Earth 2016) was shortlisted for Best Welsh Language Album of The Year at the National Eisteddfod, while his fourth and latest album ‘Detholiad o Hen Faledi II’ is described by From The Margins as ‘probably the most complete, bewitching folk album you will hear all year’.

Gwilym will perform with Patrick Rimes (fiddle) and Gwen Màiri (harp) as the Gwilym Bowen Rhys Trio.
