Garbh

Garbh is the musical project of Anna and Molly Garvey, two Irish sisters exploring vocal harmony and the connection of song sharing, drawing on a range of singing traditions and experiences, rooted in Ireland. If you've enjoyed Landless on their visits to Hartlepool, you'll love the rich, textured harmonies of Garbh.

In addition to performance, Molly will be leading a Song Exchange. Welcoming all voices and levels of experience, this model has been created by Molly to encourage people to sing ‘in public’ who may have never done so. It has been delivered monthly in Cork City since 2023, and Molly has since opened circles in Wicklow, Dublin, Clare, and most recently Mid Wales. A Song Exchange provides a place to experience discomfort in a safe context, improves deep listening, and builds trust and a sense of community.

This workshop  is open to anyone who has a song and/or would like to sing with others. By the end of the session, you will have experienced the Song Exchange as a participant and also be equipped to host one yourself, in your own community. *Please note: there are no instruments in the session except your voice.
